No matter how famous a band is, there will always be one band member that stands out. This is especially true for E Street Band, where The Boss, Bruce Springsteen, originated. Bruce Springsteen, known for his influence on heartland rock wrote and sang for the place he was born in, New Jersey.
The Boss, as Bruce Springsteen was fondly called, started his success with the E Street Band during 1975, when the band first had their single reach the Billboard Top 3 and their other songs in the Top 100. This year is the start of the success of Bruce Springsteen, and it is also this year when this rare photograph signed by the photographer, Terry O’Neill, was shot. Right in the middle of sunset strip of Los Angele in sunny California, Bruce Springsteen smiles for the camera, somehow anticipating the success that is shining bright in the years to come.
With over five decades of solid experience in the field of photography, Terry O’Neill was able to capture hundreds of memorable events in the lives of famous people. During his teenage years, Terry already had big ambitions so at 14, he decided to leave school to find what he thinks would be his calling in life – a jazz band. Soon after, Terry attended art school and became interested in photojournalism. While working at the London Heathrow Airport, he took snapshots of famous personalities and in 1959, his first photograph was published, a photo of then current secretary Rab Butler. After a year, Terry received one of the best offers of his life and that was to work for the most prestigious picture paper at that time, the Daily Sketch.
Since then, Terry O’Neill has been taking photographs and uses high quality silver gelatin to ensure vivid images like they were from yesterday.
