Laura Lian

Laura Lian was born in Cambridge England and spent her formative years in Toronto, Canada where she studied art. Came back to live in the UK in the 70's and furthered her studies in art at Chelsea College of art. She has taught art in adult education in mainstream and special needs in London and in 1989 became a full time professional artists specializing in sculpture. Her work has taken her through many interesting commissions and competitions won in the public realm as well as private commissions.
Diversity is one of her strengths, not staying with one theme but exploring everything from famous rock star portraits, parapets for bridges, gates in steel, fibre optics and her own personal work in bronze. Her work has been shown at The Royal Academy West of England, Bristol
Laura has been presented to the Princess Royal for her work on the Millennium Bridge in Melksham, Wiltshire. Laura has worked closely with various charities helping them raise money with the sales of her work and doing special commissions for them.
Laura Lian is a 'listed' artist having sold in the primary market, 'Christie's'. Her work has sold at charity auctions for up to £22,000.00. Her collectors include Bernie Ecclestone, Rachael Hunter, Sharon Osbourne and Dermot Desmond, and Lesley Clarke, wife of Nicky Clarke.
